Each handset model has its own installation procedure for installing Java applications.
Some can install Java applications only by download from wap, some other can install also from external memory
card or by bluetooth (es. Symbian devices), or infrared port (Siemens
CXT65, C70, etc), Nokias can install using Nokia Suite.

Can I use Message in a Bottle on my Windows Mobile smartpthone?
Message in a Bottle for Windows Mobile is currently Beta.The main reason is that there are several technical differenzes between the various models of Window Mobile from different vendors. On some of them, Message in a Bottle works as expected, on some other it may work in a "strange" way, on some other it may not work at all. Can I use Message in a Bottle on my BlackBerry smartpthone?
The BlackBerry editions is still in Beta.The main reason is that we found several technical differenzes between BlackBerry platform and standard Java J2ME platform. The current version has been tested on several blackberry models, and we are sure enough that it works perfeclty. Anyway my suggestion is to download and install the free trial version to try if it works on your smartphone, reporting in the dedicated Forum any eventaully strange behaviour.
It is not clear if SMSs are encrypted by elliptic curve key of by AES key.
SMSs are encrypted by AES key using the key generated through Diffie-Hellmann key agreement algorithm applied to elliptic curve cryptography.For more informations see:

Who can read my encrypted SMS?
Nobody. Only the owner of the elliptic curve private key can read encrypted SMS.
On incoming encrypted or signed SMS Message in a Bottle doesn't open automatically
Each handset model has its own activation mechanism on incoming encrypted/signed
SMS. Some opens Message in a Bottle (ex. SonyEriccson P900, P910, etc.). Some others
notify users and ask him what to do. (ex. Nokisa Series 40 such as 6020, 6021, 6080,
etc). Some others show in the SMS repository an SMS with a special icon with destination
Message in a Bottle (ex. Siemens CXT65, C70,
ecc).I wish to use on of my ring tones for incoming encrypted/signed SMS. How can I do?
On some handsets Message in a Bottle cannot use custom ring tones. If it is your
case, you can use one of the internal ring tones available in the menu
